Last week, we interviewed Geoff Ogendo prior to his lightweight title bout. His opponent? Reid Northwood, who joins us today for a few brief comments on the fight on the 3rd July.
HF – How is training going so far for your upcoming bout? How are you feeling?
RN – Training’s going well, I’m fast and working on strength. I’m feeling good about the night. Excited.
HF – How much do you know about your opponent? Do you think there are any big stylistic differences between you?
RN – I know nothing of him – whoever is standing in front of me that night, I’ll give them hell.
HF – How do you feel having been offered a chance to fight for the title?
RN – I’m excited to fight for the Lightweight title. I feel it’s something I’ve been working towards in my fighting and training.
HF – Are there any areas of your training you’ve been working on more-so for this appearance?
RN – I’ve been working my takedowns a lot more. My striking and my mentality is great!
HF – When you’re not fighting and training, what can you be found doing?
RN – When I not fighting, I’m an outdoors guy – shooting, survival weekends – but I’m mainly in the gym.
We can’t deny it – Reid sounds ready for war. Un-phased by a confident and skilled opponent, we can’t wait to see what happens when they clash in the ring at Hybrid Fight 7. Don’t miss it.
