The Greene King Stadium in Leicestershire hosted HF8 and without a doubt the best show so far with both Corey Beldon (Warriors Den) and Geoff Ogendo (Notts MMA) retaining their Welterweight and Lightweight belts accordingly. The Heavyweight title was also on the line when Luke Morton (DCMA) and Mark Hodgson (Team Kaobon) went toe to toe albeit for only one round as Morton suffered a hand injury and had to retire allowing Hodgson’s hand to be raised at the end. Corey Beldon once again proved that he is most definitly a man of his word finishing Team Kaobon’s Brett Reeve in the 3rd with another stunning spinning backfist knockdown. 8 out of 10 bouts went the distance proving our matchmakers doing another top job in finding quality, well matched fights. Antonio Louca (EWFMA) proved a handful for reigning lightweight champion Geoff Ogendo and took him all 5 rounds before losing via unanimous decision. Other fights worthy of a mention include Fight of the Night winners Matt Murrell (Full Impact Thai) vs Jamie Daywalker Molyneaux (Leicester ShootFighters) with Molyneaux coming away with the unanimous win. Luke Gifford (Gorilla MuayThai) vs Krzysztof Wisneiwski (Lions Gym) in the 105kg division was another great battle with Wisneiwski taking it via split decision and finally former lightweight champion Sean Watson (Reps MMA) was back in action taking on Ash Bray (Full Impact Thai) and coming away with a unanimous decision win and sending him back on his way to title contendership.
Look out for HYBRIDFIGHT 9 scheduled for June 10th 2017
